Membership

The Haskins Society, named in memory of the polymathic medievalist Charles Homer Haskins (1870-1937), is dedicated to scholarly study of the history of continental Europe and the Mediterranean during the early and central Middle Ages, with a special interest in Anglo-Saxon, Anglo-Norman, and Angevin England and their continental legacies and connections. The Society seeks actively to foster interdisciplinary approaches to the history of this period; archaeology, art history, literary studies, paleography, and legal studies have been among the fields most recently represented in our conferences and journal. The Society is particularly eager to support young scholars, and to foster their participation we offer full subvention of conference registration fees from the Thomas Keefe Memorial Fund as well as a limited number of travel bursaries.
